My World Tuesday # 16 The Grampians

I have lived in Oz all my life apart from 3 years overseas in my 20's and I have never seen so many kangaroos in one area as we saw while we were in the Grampians particularly the Wartook Valley.

Just coming out for a peek at the world.

Wartook

It doesn't seem to bad.

So this is what it is like outside my home.

Wartook

Mmmm I wonder if I will still fit back in there.

Wartook

It doesn't look quite so roomy as it did.
I do think this joey was still having a drink from it's mum.

Wartook

They may look cute but they have long claws and very powerful legs.

Wartook

In full bound.

The Grampians

Early morning.

Leanne, you got a very good photograph here. I have never seen a wild Kangaroo (except in the zoo).
It amazing how they carry the baby in that pouch.

How fortunate to see so many kangaroos, and the little one too. They are marvelous and especially intriguing to those of us who've never seen them. Yet, they are wild animals. Those are some Big claws.

Lovely photos! Kangas are pretty cool in that they often have three young on the go at one time; one embryo, one joey in the pouch, and one joey on foot.

Beautiful post on our plentiful kangaroos for which the Grampians are well known. Did you see the Emus on the plains north-west of them as well? In October the Grampians are awash with wildflowers and there are also Koalas at Halls Gap. Great place isn't it.

Thanks for making my morning a very sweet one!

I always love your pictures from OZ and it feels like I had a little tour through kangaroo-land. Like Tabib I only know them from the zoo...!

G'Day, great photos. Here in canberra there are heaps of Roos around too, we especially see them in the colder weather when they come out and about.

Hi Leanne aren't they a great sight for first thing in a morning or any time of the day come to that. Young Mel was lucky he didn't end up inside one of those pouches; love the way they are checking him out*!*

I love kangaroos, I guess it comes from not living in a country that has them.

Are kangaroos sometimes dangerous, do they harm people or animals at farms?
