Australia Day & My World # 4

I consider myself very lucky to live in Australia where I can get up and walk at 7am to see seagulls floating on the lake I walk around.

Early morning on the lake

and men swimming in the early sunshine.

Where I can look out my front door and see Lucas and his mates playing cricket.

and girls making out they are fielding.

I can walk to the end of my street and be greeted by this view

Something I haven't done in ages.

BECAUSE

someone stole my waist over Christmas
and
for fear of buying some of the latest fashions that someone would ask me if I was having a menopause baby
I re-acquainted myself with an old friend.

I took the dust cover off my over locker and made this.
I must admit I was a little generous altering an old pattern but it is very comfortable, not bad for a dress that cost $12.00. I will head off to DK's today and buy some linen and make another one with a few minor alterations.

I haven't walked in ages but I got up this morning and headed off around the lake now I just have to cut down on the food consumption and I might relocate my waist.

My World Tuesday #3

Barker Inlet Wetlands.
The beauty of Adelaide is that it is small I live 3 minutes from the beach and within an hour I can be in the hills, these wetlands are about 10 minutes away.

Australian White Ibis.
My bird books says they have red naked skin under their wings which I have never noticed until looking at this photo. These birds always look dirty.

Gemma's Quilt

Gemma has never asked for a quilt before but now that she has moved out I expect things are a little different. I made this between Xmas and new year and I'm pleased to say she likes it.

Gemma's Quilt

This is Gemma and my favourite saying so that had to be included.

Gemma's Quilt

And it had to have a label.

Meet Clarice

A few people have asked me about my camera so I thought I would introduce you all to
Clarice
.
Like all modern technology she has been upgraded twice since I got her back in October 2007.
I love her she has bought me many hours of fun.

She has 3 lenses.
This is the lens I use the most.
17 - 85MM

With it I can take photos like this.

Or this

Or this

Seaworld

I generally up load my photos to Flickr then copy and paste the Html into my post which is why when you click on them they take you to my flickr site.
I find this easier as I can put the pictures where I want them as blogger uploads each photo to the top of the post then you have to move them around.
In this post you can see the difference. Most of the pictures I have up loaded from blogger except the polar bear, the close up of the passion flower and the quilt .
I only use the medium size photos because of the time the large ones take to down load.
If you are blog reading with a slow internet they takes ages to down load.
From the Flickr site if you want to you can have a look at the larger version.
The other reason I up load to Flickr is that if you have a computer melt down you haven't lost all your photos they will be safe and well in your Flickr site.

Just so you think I'm totally mad meet Clarice's friend Terry they are quite often seen out and about together.

Terry the tripod.
