Holidays

We have been having a lovely relaxing time, our friends have been staying with us for the last few days. We have been taking long walk, eating too much and generally just enjoying the holidays.

Even the dogs have been relaxing

Gemma had a fight with the cream and the cream won.

I made some yummy muffins the recipe can be found here A Spoonful of Sugar: Banana Muffins

I have even managed some sewing. I made a few of these bags as Christmas gifts but forgot to take photos.

This one is for me, they are such useful bags.

Blogs on mobile devices

I am hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

Blogger has changes the way blogs look on iPads ect. It is not at all appealing.

This will explain how to change it back.

Merry Christmas

Wishing all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

The Corella's have moved in.

The Black Cockatoos from my last post seem to have left and the Corella's have moved in. They are noisy, and destructive but very entertaining to watch.

The day I wondered down to take these was very overcast as you can see from the grey skies.

The following morning when I walked to the shop for some milk the sun was shining.

Some sewing that I can show. I made a Santa Sack for Jack, we thought we might be able to put Jack in it. He is a beautiful boy so happy but at 4 months old he is a very big boy.

I made them sweat shop style.
They are a Nicole pattern and rather cute.

Some sewing and some cooking and my balcony

A couple of weeks back I did a work shop with Kathy Dougherty of Material Obsession, it was fun and although Kathy would have preferred a quilt to be made.......... I opted for a pillow. I am so pleased with how it turned out. If you ever have the chance to do a workshop with  Kathy grab it with both hands. Kathy is very inspirational and full of ideas. She makes you think about colours and it is amazing how just playing around with different combinations of the same fabrics can really change the look of your project.

a pillow finished

My friend Kerry from QLD came to stay and while she was here she had a party to go to.
She was in charge of 2 cakes and some racing teddies.

I took the following pictures from our balcony at Port Elliot the other morning. I went out to take some photos of the black cockatoos that have moved into town to feed. I have noticed them on the edge of town before but at the moment there is obviously something delicious blooming in the town. They are very noisy as they fly around.

The Lorikeets are very happy feeding on this New Zealand Christmas bush.

The New England Honey Eaters have an extra patch of yellow on their heads at the moment as these bushes are in flower at the moment and the Honey Eaters have to put their heads deep into the flowers to feed so they end up with pollen on the top of their heads.
