Surfing Safari

Boomer Weekend

Last weekend saw the family relaxing at Boomer Beach. I have a friend who has a wonderful beach house there and we are lucky enough to be able to use it. Sean loves these weekends as he doesn't have to go far to find surf. Boomer is near Port Elliot which is about an 1hours drive for us.

Boomer Weekend

These photos were taken early morning at Petrel Cove and Waitpinga as Sean drove like a mad thing looking for a good wave. I am invited on these expeditions as I can take photos.

Boomer Weekend

On Saturday Lucas, Nick and Dave arrived.
They had great fun in the waves at Boomer.

Boomer Weekend

This is the view from the Beach house it is wonderful to go to sleep and wake up to the crashing sounds of the waves.
It is also nice to sit and stitch with this lovely view to look up at.

Another early morning drive but with no Sean this time he had headed in the other direction to surf.
Encounter Bay with the sun coming up.

Boomer Weekend

Sean caught some wave out the front of the beach house so I had a leisurely stroll down onto the beach to take these.

We were "surfies" in our younger years and so much time was spent driving up and down the west coast looking for the best break, so I can relate to your early morning drives.

Your photos are superb and it makes me homesick for the beach and the sound of the waves. Thank you for the lovely photos.

Your pictures are amazing and I can almost hear the sea gulls and ocean waves and smell the salt air.

Love that pinwheel quilt! Thanks for sharing the info on the ruler - I am always up for buying a new ruler.
