Wow it's been nearly 6 weeks

I have no real excuses I'm just not sure what happens with my time. Living in 2 places I think makes a difference to my time and I have been busy in the garden at Port Elliot.
I finished a quilt for a friends daughter as a wedding gift,
it is made out of Saffron Craig's Fabrics. I am pleased with how it turned out the pattern is a quick an easy one from the shop called "Hettie's Quarters" It is a great pattern for large print fabric. I quilted it with simple lines which turned out very effective.

I used the scraps to piece the back.

I stitched the blessing read by Sophie's sister at the wedding as the label.

Irish Wedding Blessing

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon the fields.
May the light of friendship guide your paths together.
May the laughter of children grace the halls of your home.
May the joy of living for one another
trip a smile from your lips, a twinkle from your eye.
And when eternity beckons,
at the end of a life heaped high with love,
May the good Lord embrace you
with the arms that have nurtured you
the whole length of your joy-filled days.
May the gracious God hold you both
in the palm of His hands.
And, today, may the Spirit of Love
find a dwelling place in your hearts.

It took me nearly as long to stitch the label as it did to make the quilt LOL.

A walk in Port Elliot, this council Chambers always makes me laugh I wonder how many people fit in it.

Port Elliot

It has been school holidays here for the last 2 weeks and the Cockle Train runs 3 times a day so I have this lovely old steam train chugs past my kitchen window.

I've always wanted to live in two houses. One at the beach and another in suburbia. I always thought it would be a lovely life. Although probably busy! At the time that I first dreamed this dream we were living in a huge house. I thought two smaller houses would be much more suitable. I think it appeals to my restless spirit. Anyway, never quite was brave enough to do it. Now I am living in another huge house and wishing that I had two smaller ones!

Love your Port Elliott photos. Such a lovely place!!!

I'm not sure which side of the quilt I like better! Love it!
The train is great too! I think the chamber is just perfect for a town that has a steam train. What is a cockle train anyway?
I've never "commented" before but have followed you for a while now. Your photography is just wonderful and so is your country..thanks for sharing. Nita
