With a little bit of encouragement

Lorraine has been encouraging me to write a pattern for a bag that I have made more times than I care to think. I have made them as gifts........ I have a couple of these bags with stitcheries on the side, all the girls at work have one. I have always just made it from a hodge podge of notes. I decided that I would give it a go and have found it very challenging. Lucas & I have had fun making a cover I have learnt a little about Adobe so in all it has been a learning curve. I am dyslexic so I have always found it easier to make things than write how to make them.

My Bag

My Bag

I have put instructions for 2 bags in the pattern the second bag is quilted, I have done some free motion quilting on mine.

My Bag

Free motion quilting

This is what happened to the appliqué I did recently......it ended up in another bag.

Happy girl applique bag

This is what Lucas came up with as a cover.

My Bag Pattern

I don't profess to be a designer but I thought I would offer a copy of the pattern as a give away. Just leave a comment and I will pull a name out of the hat next Tuesday.

I especially like the bag with the roses on it. This is the perfect tote for my daughter to carry her knitting around in. Very useful and so very pretty. No small wonder that folks go for your designs, you offer so many fun ideas for decoration to suit everyone.

Very cute bags ... I like those first two ... so colourful!

To answer your question about coyotes ... they are no threat to livestock. They mostly eat rabbits, voles, mice, the odd wild duck, lacking those, the odd little dog or cat or chicken. Wolves on the other hand (and we have those too) can take down a calf though ranchers mostly worry about cougars where calves are concerned.

I cannot even fathom how one sets out to make a pattern. I enjoy working from the pattern, but I know I cannot go backwards. It would be a fun skill though. The bag (plus your embellishments) is simply adorable! I'd love to win the pattern! :D

Leigh Ann
