Sadly it is back to reality..............it seems hard to believe that we have been back from Qld for a week. Before I left I was busy sewing but they were things that I couldn't post as they were presents. I made a quilt for my friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has started her long journey, her first dose of chemo was on Thursday. We all know that quilts have magical qualities so I made her one before we left for Qld.
The quilt was a pack from Hettie's Patch the pattern is called "anything goes" and is available as a pack. The night I put it together my niece was staying with us and we placed the squares moving them around on the floor. When it is put together and hung as above I noticed all the dark squares are in the middle of the quilt. I expect this is why design walls are so good you get a better perspective. We laughed doing it as I said no matter how hard we try when it is put together there will be 2 squares the same along side each other.....and there was. She couldn't believe it when I finished it.
I borrowed these words from a sampler by Viv Robinson. I took out 2 of the squares and put a solid patch in.
The label.

What a beautiful gesture Leanne. Your friend is lucky to have your support and love during what must be a very difficult time. I hope the magical qualities of this special quilt work wonders...fingers crossed! Jo xo
Leanne, she may just want to take it with her as she begins her chemo. Nothing like something to comfort you in time of need! My SIL has been thru breast cancer twice. Two different types. But she is hanging in there. Chemo is hard on the body. My best to her. Encourage her to eat... it will be hard! But she really needs to do it! And if all else fails, tell her that Carnation instant breakfast w/icecream as a shake/smoothy works wonders! It replaces and gives her the nuitrients/vitamins/minerals that her body needs! Unfortunately our family has had several go thru cancer. My prayers are with her!
We Shall Overcome! With His Love!
Leanne, you are a REAL friend !!! Love the words you stitched. Would you please write it once, because I can't read one word: "don't jurge" ??? would like to use the words also - XOXOX Brigitte
