It's cold

Those of you who know me know I hate winter with a passion.......................it has been really cold this week, not cold like you northern hemisphere girls but cold for Adelaide.
I did have a lovely bright spot in the week the postie left me a parcel. It has taken until this morning for me to take some photos while the sun is shining.
It was from my friend Shirley.
Thank you Shirley your parcel was a really bright spot in a cold wintry week.
It's her birthday today and I got the present.

Gift from Shirley

It was packed full of goodies some lovely hand dyed fabric, a pattern and some of Shirley's very clever beading and a cook book. I love the card also as when you open it it make the sound of a Robin singing. It drives our dogs made if you put it on the ground and open it they walk around trying to find the bird it is so funny to watch.

Gift from Shirley

The little beaded thimble holder is amazing.

Gift from Shirley

Yesterday I woke up to a thick fog so after navigating my way to and from the gym I took these. The roses that I haven't pruned were covered in webs.

After the fog

After the fog

Now it is my turn to send you some warm love. It is hot weather here but as it is my birthday it may rain. I cannot remember one when it hasn't. I am so glad that you liked your presents and that it cheered you up. Love the photo of the spiders web. They are pretty amazing things aren't they.
Love Shirley.xx

Hi Leanne!

I am loving the cold weather (sorry) and I really love your webs. They are nature's jewellery. So beautiful. Interesting that the webs were on the unpruned roses. Are pruned roses difficult to build webs on? I don't think I have ever pondered questions from a spider's point of view before. Great post!

I can do without cold weather as well - thank goodness it is not very cold in SC but a few months out of the year. That thimble case is so cute. Your web pictures reminded me of the sciene project I worked on with my son, where we spray painted a web silver and them pressed a black poster board to it. Made an amazing picture and a great science project.

Beautiful spider webs - I love the webs, not the spiders. I'd really like it to be cold here (east coast of the US) but right now its in the 30s-40s celsius, which we don't get often (thank heaven!). I'm so ready for autumn!
