The beauty of Adelaide is that it is small I live 3 minutes from the beach and within an hour I can be in the hills, these wetlands are about 10 minutes away.
This Egret was looking for his breakfast then
he was off.
The pelicans were also looking for their breakfast.
Australian White Ibis.
My bird books says they have red naked skin under their wings which I have never noticed until looking at this photo. These birds always look dirty.

I particularly like the 4th photo (in flight) Wow! Lovely shots!
Your wetlands are gorgeous! I happen to live close to wetlands too and so I think I understand why you enjoy yours.
Incredible images. I used to be a vol. Warden at a wetlands in the UK so this is my kind of place.
These photos are magestic!
Leanne how eligant these birds are! Very beautiful photos! Your part of Australia is very beautiful, I must ask my daughter, who lives in Queensland, to go with me to Adelaide.
beautiful captures of the egret and the ibis'...have a wonderful week.
We ave lots of Ibis around here, probably plague proportions, but I never knew what that red bit was. Nice photos.

always look dirty?... lol! and with so much water around. I like those flying pics.
Such interesting birds. Loved the pelicans ... bottoms up! The egret was beautiful too. An ibis no less. What a great place to go birding.
great pics as always.....!! I am getting closer to getting my new camera....woo hoo....I will be down for some lessons.....I just put my name down at Hetties for a pack of the Breast of Friends fabs......! I know....addicted!!
A lovely wetland to be so close to. Being in the eastern foothills it would be an expedition to go there although I would dearly love to snap up the birds you saw. The white Ibis is not always dirty looking, If you don't believe me, have a look at my weekly birds post one bird post down. I think perhaps the young birds don't have pure white feathers.
Fabulous photos Leanne and some wonderful birds! My parents were keen birdwatchers so I know a good bird when I see one!!
