BECAUSE
someone stole my waist over Christmas
and
for fear of buying some of the latest fashions that someone would ask me if I was having a menopause baby
I re-acquainted myself with an old friend.

I took the dust cover off my over locker and made this.
I must admit I was a little generous altering an old pattern but it is very comfortable, not bad for a dress that cost $12.00. I will head off to DK's today and buy some linen and make another one with a few minor alterations.
I haven't walked in ages but I got up this morning and headed off around the lake now I just have to cut down on the food consumption and I might relocate my waist.

What a lovely summer dress!!
That dress is lovely. How nice to complete a project.
Darn weight anyway ... but CUTE dress ... cool and breezy!
I use to make all my clothes when I was ultra skinny might have to pull out my old dress makers dummy and see if she can be my size again. Though there is a heap of god knows what on top of her it might be a while before I find her.
A lovely springy dress-looks like you and your old friend still get on very well together.
gorgeous dress.
i was given an overlocker recently but it just sits there staring at me cause i'm too scared to use it. there are so many threads!!!!
good luck with your walking. i managed to get to the gym four times this week so i don't feel so guilty about all the crap i've eaten!!! lol

The dress is lovely!
Kind regards,

What a lovely dress!
I used to made clothes for my children and myself, but that was before I started patchwork.
Have a nice weekend!
I lost my waist months ago. Lovely dress you made.
Oh that dress is beautiful! I want to start making the girls some clothes soon - I already have the pattern but not the fabric (well, I have a lot of fabric just not enough of the right sort unless I go for the patchwork look!)
Your dress is very lovely....I cannot think that there is hot and here so cold!
Sometimes is so relaxing to do a walk.
ciao ciao
see if you can find my waist too while you're out please :-) Lovely summery fabric

So cool and pretty! Wish I had one just like it to cope with our "tropical" heat.
Very nice dress, it looks like you will be very cool and refreshed. Sewing is sooo great! And it's always nice when someone comments about how pretty the item is... you can proudly (but humbly reply... yes, thank you I made it myself!) Bet it would have cost a lot more to buy it!
Keep up the good work!

What a beautiful dress you've made! Wish we had the weather to wear a dress like that!
Hi Le-anne
Just love your dress.... you will feel great in it.....
I have decided also to do something about my waist this year...so out with the weight watcher books.... and sit and put meals to paper

Wonderfully summery!
Gorgeous dress!
Wish you luck in the search for your waist!
Mine was stolen many, many years ago... haven't found it yet!
Oh, how breathtakingly beautiful!
Leanne, that is so pretty. Overlockers do make sewing so much quicker!

I think I lost my waist sometime in 1993. Too tired now to go looking for it I think. Love your dress. Waist or not, you will look lovely! I love DK! They have such interesting fabric!
I love the fabric, so pretty and feminine. The pattern looks fairly straightforward, not that I'm any expert. I have made a pair of lounge pants and a simple elasticated waisted skirt.
What a lovely dress! I love the simple design. Ugh, no idea where my waist has gone either....I vaguely remember where it used to be!
Snow permitting, I am determined to get to the post office with your prize this week :-)
