Wishing you a bright and sunny 2010.
A few months back Julie sent me some sunflower seeds.
I planted them in my garden..... some I think ended up as a meal for a bird but not all of them.
What a clever flower.
I took this photo at 8am notice where it is facing.
this one at noon
5pm.
This flower is near our front door and I can see it when I sit and stitch.
I love to watch it track the sun.
These are a few little ones that have already opened.
This is the head of the largest one which is as tall as me and still growing.
Thanks Julie.

Wishing you an extra special 2010! Your sunflowers are gorgeous - you really take the most stunning photos.
Great pictures! Lisa
I love sunflowers- they are so cheerful. I had some giant ones growing in my garden last year. I think they reached about 7 or 8 feet. We are finally getting some sun today after over a week of rain and grey skies- it's like the tropics out there! Happy New Year to you.
Such lovely, bright, warm photos. They cheer me up after a day of dark skies and cold rain.
Happy 2010!

Happy New Year Leanne. I remember that about sunflowers from the movie calendar girls - they follow the sun and are at their prime in the twilight of their life or something like that. Sounded very poetic whatever the wording.
What beautiful cheery photos - I just love sunflowers. Just what I needed as I sit here looking at my frost covered garden :)
I hope you have a very happy and healthy 2010.

Thank you for sharing those lovely pictures with us. It brings warmth here!
We are looking at 10 cm of snow that fell tonight. Very pretty too, but coooooooooold.
Have a lovely week.
Those sun flowers do put a happy face on the New Year. They are amazing flowers.
Happy New Year back!
Wonderful Sunflowers!
In my garden everything is covered with snow...
Happy New Year to all of you!
Leanne you take some stunning photos
Great pictures! I remember a few years ago, my husband nurtured an enormous volunteer sunflower plant in our garden bed. It grew and grew for weeks until it was over 6 feet tall, then put out a single 2 inch blossom. I laughed and laughed.
Happy New Year,
Susan
Hi Leanne,
I am a rubbish photographer but hopefully will improve and there will be something reasonable to look at. The pink thimble is from Clover and comes in 3 colours but only in small, medium and large in one of 3 colours. Lucky for me my size is pink. Yeah. Love the cheerful sunflower. We are still freezing our bits off here in this icy grip.

Love those Sunflowers! Happy 2010XX
Sunflowers are sooo wonderful... one year that we planted them (half a package) when the seed heads were ready... we gave them to friends and neighbors... it was a real treat to share with everyone! In more than one way!
The pictures are really nice... thanks for sharing!
Such beautiful photos Leanne-they made me smile. Happy New Year to you!
Sunflowers! Love them!
Beautiful. One of mine reached 7 foot, the rest smaller but still stunning. Good luck with the seed collecting.
