I've been absent for a while

Molly

I have been absent for a while - lots have happened in my life since Christmas.
I have been diagniosed with a rare lung disease, Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). It has been a bit of a roller coaster ride originally being diagnosed with emphysema, to say I was angry about that was an understatement as I have never smoked and really hate it. I am known amongst Lucas and Gemma's friends for my anti smoking talks/rants and for bringing really gross photos home from work to show any of them that smoke. Then the diagnosis became cystic lung disease and finally LAM. Thankfully my disease is mild.
My life has changed never take anything for granted - I am now going to the gym trying to get fitter and to my surprise I am enjoying it.
This is the reason I haven't been around in blogland as much, the time I spent sitting in front of the computer has been swamped for gym time.
I have also started a photo shop course and have been helping my friend in her quilt shop. I have also been sewing more - I love blogland but at times it takes away from the thing I started my blog for - sewing.

Enjoy my snaps of Moonta it is where I grew up.
It is about a 2 hour drive from Adelaide and was once a copper mining town.

I love this snap - notice the fly that ended up in front of the lens.

Good to see you're back, and I hope your diagnosis is manageable for you :) I've an online friend who can knit at the gym - maybe you can stitch?

It's good to see you back Leanne. The gym always makes me feel better too - it's amazing what those endorphins can do! Glad your diagnosis is settled now, it must have been so frustrating with it changing in the beginning. I hope it is manageable and gives you little trouble. Take care of yourself :)

I think of you often you know. I think it's because of your photography. (And because you are an exceptional personality!) This morning as Brad and I drove home from our beachside walk I saw a woman grooming her horse by the River Torrens and thought of you. Nice to hear from you and glad to hear you are doing okay. I love the Moonta snaps. It is such a lovely place. (All except for the snake - yuk!) Brad and I visited there at the beginning of the year and had a lovely time.

Good to see you back.....it is hard to balance everything and fit everything in....I have gone back to the gym three mornings a week and often find by the time I get home from work I am too tired spend any time on the computer...glad you are stitching more...I haven't managed to fit any stitching in for a while...still trying to get the house sorted....take care of yourself.....hope you have the LAM under control.....I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when you got the original (incorrect) diagnosis!! I am sure you had a bit to say! LOL

I'm sorry to hear you have this Lymphangioleiomyomatosis ... I've just been off o read about it. You had good reason to rant about smoking! My sister came down with cancer even though she thought she was doing every thing right so it seems indiscriminate who gets hit with whatever disease. I'm glad yours is manageable.

Gorgeous pictures.

Happy Stitching!

Hi Leanne, I've really missed your posts (thought you might be hiding amongst the yummy fabric in Hetties new room). So sorry to hear about your illness. Good on you for going to the gym - it really is good for the body and head. Hope you have brighter days ahead.
Love the pic of your doggy - I still miss my Niki nearly two years on - I think a new puppy is coming to live with us at the end of this year. Jill x

Beautiful photos once again Leeane. Sorry to hear about your illness, but I am glad you at least now know what it is and that it is mild, therefore hopefully does not drastically effect your quality of life. I hope that Adelaides mild winter helps and if not that you can get away to somewhere sunny and warm, so to keep your lungs in tip top condition. Happy quilting, Sue SA.
