Today I have been married for 25 years, normally I would do the cleaning but I thought I deserved the day off just to play. Tony and I will go out for lunch as he is working tonight. It's been a great 25 years I have 2 great children and and a great husband who puts up with me, my sewing, my blogging etc etc.
Now onto the appliqué this is what I did yesterday I found this process quite good in the fact it would be quite portable. The only preparation you need is to draw the pattern on the back of the material, as I have done above. This is done on the back of the material.
This is the back after I had finished the leaves and half of the flower.
I also liked it as the pieces are tacked down and do not move. You can see a white marking line Wendy the lady who taught us doesn't even use that. However I did make a mistake when you tack the piece down you should use a contrasting thread. Me in my usual fashion used red for the leaves and just continues on with the red on the red flower. There are no pins to catch your threads.
I need to do a little work on my small invisible stitches.
This is what I finished yesterday Lucy left a comment on yesterdays post that the finished quilt was great but she would not have the patients to do the same. I don't think I would have the patients to do a whole quilt either but it was fun learning the process.

Beautiful applique work. I'm still thinking about learning to do applique. I haven't convinced myself yet. Keep up the good work.
Happy Anniversary !!
I hope you had a lovely day.
Maybe I should try back basting again - never got the hang of it.
