bloggers are so kind

A few weeks back I won a give away on Pat's blog she had been given the table runner pattern by Deb and now that she had made the table runner was passing the pattern on. Pat and I thought it would be a good idea to see how far this pattern can travel so when I have made it I will do the same. Pat was kind enough to add in some chocolates(that I defiantly don't need),some lovely fabric and a very cute little bunny.

Project 365

Do not be fooled by this lovely green lawn it is the only patch in our back yard that has survived this summer it is where the down pipe from the roof finishes and even a small bit of condensation has kept it alive.

A few Saturdays back there was a Dragon Boat Regatta on the lake Tony & I went down for a walk and I took these photos. We can hear the dragon boats training in the evening from our house - the beating of the drum but mostly the yelling of whoever sets the pace. I admire the people who do it as I am sure there would be a mutiny if I was in one of those boats.

There is only one job I would like and it is this one.

You get to sit up the front of the boat and beat the drum.
I could perhaps cope with this one but then you have to stand up.

I definitely wouldn't want to do this.

Heading toward the finish line I would have jumped out by now.

They won and now have to put the brakes on. The man at the end of the boat looks like he is about to die.

Now doesn't that look like fun LOL give me a nice walk around the lake anytime.

It must be lovely to live so near to a lake....the dragon boat racing looks like good entertainment! I love your idea of a travelling pattern - a bit like those travelling books.

I'm with you on the walk business ... I'd never make it rowing, I've got such wimpy arms!

How lucky to have that beautiful lake to walk around. I love walking in the bush. We take our pooch to the "dog run" in the bush and it feels like your away from it all, very peaceful!! Travelling pattern, very cool!! Cathyx

Why spoil a great photo opportunity by actually being on the boat? They do look a bit exhausted, don't they?!!

The travelling pattern idea is lovely :)

Just a comment on your dragon boat racing and the girl setting the pace by beating the drum - she has to go backwoods all the way. Oh yuck.

I love the idea of a travelling pattern. (I also loved the Sisterhood of the Travelling pants books). It will be interesting to follow it and see how different it looks in different fabrics.
I couldn't be a dragon boater - I've got weak arms!!
Enjoy your weekend.

Hi Leanne, love the parcel you received - how lucky are you! I feel sorry for those dragon boaters. I have been in 2 dragon boating comps and hated it both times. It was sooooo hard! I don't know why I agreed to the second one really, I should have learnt my lesson the first time. I love the scenery though, must be nice for you to have a alovely lake nearby.
