Day 2 Mildura to West Wylong

Yesterday saw us drive 565 kilometres from Mildura to West Wylong. We left Mildura in rain and arrived in West Wylong in rain however we didn't drive all day in rain. We crossed the Hay plane and if you have ever done that you are still trying to forget it, it is approx 200 kms of this.

My daughter saw a banner up across the street in West Wylong late last year that said, "Happy Birthday Jesus" rather than Merry Christmas. It's one of our favourite places to stop on road trips!

Yes the Hay Plains are just as I remembered them, miles of nothing.Your photos do them justice however.

I remember the Hay Plains - our son lived in Griffith for a while. I remember travelling it at night and thinking oh - there's a house - 20minutes later we passed a truck!! We have a FREEZING wind up here in Qld today... but sunny... enjoy the travelling... Hugz

Not a good place to play I spy then on the car journey. That River looks very fast flowing and full judging by the colour. Are we nearly there yet?
