on Tuesday at sewing I was still doing the stitchery for this.
The girls where doubtful that I would get it made to give as a gift on Wednesday.
It was done and dusted by 7.30 and I even fed the family.
The pattern is an Anni Downs one and I was sad to give it away I loved it so much.
I was lucky Hetties had the same fabric that Anni had used in her sample.
Under the cover of darkness 2 weeks ago with step ladder and trusty staple gun I put big red bows around the trees in our circuit. It was blowing a gale and freezing cold Lucas helped me for about a minute then decided I was mad and it was cold so went to bed.
There are about 25 trees........ now wearing big red bows and looking very festive and no one in the circuit knows it was me.

What a beautiful present! I bet it was hard to giveaway! And what a wonderful idea to decorate all the trees-a great present for your community!
well done! it looks cute..and I love the bows in the trees...very festive...no thanks to Santa's little helper...too cold! LOL...I am sure he has endured colder conditions while out surfing....I have this mental picture of you and your step ladder and staple gun in the dark....good effort....they even look straight!
oh...by the way....I wouldn't have doubted you (getting the tree finished) for a minute!
I thought you could get it done once all the stitching was done and you are a master stuffer. Love the bows.
That tre is beautiful. Love the red ribbons.
Lovely finish and the secret bows are fabulous, you'll have the whole street wondering!
Ah HA the trees look GREAT. Umm think I will do that for our street next Christmas - LOVE it - good thinking.
Oh and the stitched tree is so good. As usual you are so good...
Oh I would have loved to see all the faces as they spotted the bows on the trees. You are such a fun person and so thoughtful with your gifts, generous too. You will have to make one for yourself.
Have a great Christmas.
Love Shirley.x
What an incredible project! I can imagine you were a bit sad. But then, the one you gave it to will be very very happy.
Why did you tie those ribbons around the trees?
What a beautiful project! Bet it was hard to let it go...hope the recipient liked it!
Have a great Christmas!
You have done a beautiful job and I'm sure the recipient will be stoked!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

The bows certainly took my breath away when I drove into your street. They are lovely! Secrets are such fun! I took my 10 year old Christmas shopping with me (for some of it) this year and he is delighting in the secrets he knows. It's been 3 days and he hasn't breathed a word. When we are alone he says how happy everyone will be when they know our secret. Yep. Secrets are lovely!
Oh, it's such a beautiful Christmas project!
And you've been Santa's helper in adding bows to the trees! Great idea :)
Best wishes,
Tatyana
So you're an urban decorating guerilla? The bows looks fantastic and I bet your neighbours are getting a real kick out of them.
And your finished project is beautiful.
I love it! I can imagine it was hard to give it away. Enjoy this one & wishing you a merry Christmas.

It's wonderful!!!

Yep I agree with Amanda, world's no. 1 stuffer. Did you fill it with cement? It looks so smooth. Mine looks as though it needs some serious LIPOSUCTION !!!
I love the bows! Such a festive touch. Tell Lucas I think he is a wuss!
We have someone in prospect who goes around putting crochet goodies on things. one day i was walking down the street and i saw crochet flowers in a tree! amazing :)

Merry Christmas to you and your family Leanne. I’m belated, but we celebrate 2 Christmas days, so my wishes still count... LOL!
Those red bows are gorgeous and I love that stitchery!
Love the bows on trees:)
Also absolutely LOVE that fabric tree. I went to Hetties site, but I don´t know what the fabric line is called so couldn´t find it. Nor could I find the pattern. Please would you be kind enough to let me/us know the name of the pattern and the fabric line. I feel another MUST DO going on the list for 2011. Thanks so much.
love the stitchery , glad you got it finished in time . Those bows are just great , brilliant idea :-)
