Finally some sewing

It has been a long time since I have been in the sewing room. I have made this bag a couple of times but for other people. I bought this fabric last year when we went to Ballan and Mill Rose Cottage - Cafe | Quilting | Retreat - Ballan, Vic it is a lovely quilt shop well worth a visit.
The pattern is from Lisa Lams book "The Bag Making Bible"

And what else would you have inside but green dog fabric.
I also have to thank my friend Amanda from Sea Breeze Quilts I could not find my copy of the book I had the pattern cut out ........ but the book is either somewhere in my very messy tidy sewing room or I have lent it to someone. Amanda sent me the instructions I was going to wing it but as I haven't sewn for such a long time I thought I had better not.
Have a look at Amanda's blog she is doing a "Sample Quilt" quilt along she is an amazing teachers so if you want to jump on board I think they are on to the second block so it's not too late to catch up.

Strathalbyn and Wood Oven Pizzas

On Sunday we went to friends to share wood Oven Pizzas it was a wonderful day.

I was so busy eating I forgot to get some photos of the pizzas.

When we had finished with the pizzas we put some bread and other yummy things in to cook.

My friends amazing wall.

Today we drove to Strathalbyn and went for a stroll through the park.

This couple of ducks had 21 babies I'm hoping she was running a crache as 21 little ducklings is a lot for one mum to look after.

A lovely memorial under the bridge.

Along the road on the way home the canola crops are so colourful.

Green lush paddock with lots of lambs.

I have even done some sewing today I might have something to show shortly.

Sky

My friend Chookyblue........ did a post this morning about skies so I thought I would go for a walk and take some photos of the sky. Unlike Chooky's skies mine are a bit grey today the wind is blowing strong and the clouds are moving fast.

Not a lots of sewing happening here this is the sum of it ........ a gift for the boy from the local store as he is heading off to France for 9 months.

There has been a lot of cooking going on here when Tony finished his chemo he weighed 49 kilos so I have been fattening him up.

I have been making bread ............... I love No Knead Bread it is so crunchy and really nice toasted.

Catching up

It's been such a while since I last blogged this will be a long one .......... more for my benefit.

Firstly I must thank my lovely friend Chookyblue........ For this gift she sent me some time back.

Here it is in full use it reminds me of her with the lovely chook fabric and a very nice key ring.

Thanks Chookyblue........

Back when the sun was shining and the sky was blue we went to Strathalbyn to the Sheep dog trials.

Each morning when I walk, I walk past this tree "The dragon tree" I think it looks more like a water buffalo.

The sand came back to the beach.

The moon was full and large.

Playing in the back yard.

This is what happens when you move the tripod without looking.

A few months back there was an IRB carnival in the bay.

The boats have to race out to the buoys go around the first one then while going around the second buoy picks someone up out of the water then races to the beach drops that person off and do it again.

During the school holiday my niece and her wonderful family came to stay. We had lots of fun cooking and walk feeding ducks and train rides.

Sean and Charlotte

Jack and Grant

Waiting for the train

Adele and I took Jack and Charlotte to Granite Island on the tram.

We also had some rides.

You may have worked out not a lot of sewing has happened here. I have been a very slack blogger doing a bit of reading not much commenting I will try to be better more for my benefit.

Tony has finished his chemo and has now started to gain weight he is still struggling with no feeling in his hands and feet so life here is improving.
