A bit of sewing a bit of cooking

Up until last Tuesday my sewing room door was propped open with this.

How funny is it that you can see me in the spoon.

I have been wanting to make a door stop for ages so I made two while I was at it. They are huge and heavy but let me tell you the wind blows down here at Port Elliot and the doors slam, so at least my sewing room and our bedroom are safe.

Gemma needed a new work bag and they were down for the weekend so I quickly made this after tea on Saturday.

It was my neighbours birthday over the weekend so a kit Kat cake was called for.

We got a dog door last week and it is proof you CAN teach an old dog new tricks because at 13 Bella mastered the door quickly.

This is Honey with all of us and a treat on the other side trying to get her to come inside. It took a LOT of treats but she finally got it.

It was a magical day, Tony was well and lasted until 9pm.
I can wholeheartedly recommend The Currant Shed | McLaren Vale they were fantastic. Emily and her staff were the best, the food was to die for. If you are looking for somewhere to have a lovely lunch take a trip to McClaren Flat and the Currant Shed.
If you are in need of a celebrant and want a warm caring lovely lady then you can not go past Amy Harrison - Civil Marriage Celebrant - Adelaide, South Australia (SA)
If you have made it this far you have done well we had the BEST DAY.
In closing
Sean welcome to the family.

Smoke Haze

Just back from a short walk. It is much cooler down here than in Adelaide.

I took these photos to show the smoke haze that has blown in, it makes me think if it is like that here how terrible it must be close to the fires.
I presume this is blowing in from Victoria.

I put my big girls nickers on

I have done a little bit of sewing .........these where all Christmas gifts. I was rather pleased with myself I have always been a little scared of the whole glue/frame thing. I met Nicole last year and her advice was to just go for it, so I put my big girls nickers on and look what I accomplished.

The pattern is Nicole Mallalieu Design / You SEW Girl! - 200mm Chunky Purse Kit

by Nicole .You SEW Girl

It is a great pattern.

It's been hot here in SA but we aren't doing it quite as tough as some of our farmers please visit my friend Chookyblue's Blog ,Chookyblue........ she is having a fairly tough time at the moment. This photo is for her, for quite a long time we have been sending each other photos when we see the moon during the day.

Some random photos from the last few months.

Lucas bought himself a spit I think it has something to do with his love of fires and cooking, it covers both bases.

I have told my neighbour I planted this sunflower especially for her. I planted 6 seeds and this one grew above the fence and in her direction.
