Another morning walk

Alison recently posted about a visitor to her backyard. I was totally amazed as I didn't have any idea that there were hedgehogs in New Zealand. She asked had anyone else been treated to a glimpse of nature....... these pelicans aren't in my back yard but it takes me about a minute to walk to the lake so they are pretty close.
At certain times of the year when the fish are plentiful there is a group of pelicans that seem to hunt together I took these photos about a month ago on my morning walk.

Morning walk 12/4/2008

They paddle along in the water and when they see some fish they seem to walk along the top of the water then dive their heads in under the water.

They are quite successful this one is just about to swallow a fish.

PIF gift fron Sweden

While my computer was having major surgery I recieved my PIF gift from Stina.

IMG_2808_1_1

I was really pleased when I popped by her blog and found I was in time to join in I have always admires her lovely work.
She sent me the most wonderful parcel of goodies. Swedish chocolate is much nice than here. I must say I have been very generous and even shared it with the rest of the crew here.
Lucas remarked at how nice the card was and how nice Stina's writing is.

When I opened it I was so pleased, what a lovely gift I am so lucky..... it is so beautifully made I love it....... so thank you Stina.
I took it with me to my stitching group who decided I had been exceptional luck in receiving such a wonderful gift.
I had to wait for some nice weather to take these photos.

Look at how beautifully it is stitched and Stina has written along the inside flap...... it was rather hard to photograph.

PIF Gift

I emailed Stina to thank her and said I'm really bad at not using things that I love I tend to put them away safe just in case something happens to it. Stina replied that I had to use it or else she would take it back and give it to Mel to use as a pillow you can imagine the response to that .......

I had to wrestle it off of him and put it to use immediately. Will post a picture in a few days of it in use on the arm of my favourite chair.

Wooo Hooooo we are up and running.

Thanks to Sean we have our computer back. I lost all my emails so sorry about not replying to comments.... I used Gemma's laptop to keep up with all that was happening in blogland.

This will be a quick post......... thought I'd share these photos.

While I was cleaning the car......no computer had time to clean the car.......hence the rain we have had in Adelaide I think the farmers could pay me to wash my car in their area it is sure to rain after that......back to the car cleaning these little guys were across the road watching me.

IMG_2818_10_1

They are really cute as they waddle around picking at the grass.

IMG_2815_7_1

They even picked sour sobs and gave to each other however they didn't seem to eat them.

IMG_2817_9_1

In one of Chookyblue's posts recently she said go out and use your camera change the settings, change the angle you take a photo........ the beauty of digital is that you can take so many photos and pick only the best.................... I agree with her go out and play it's such fun.

We are back from a lovely weekend away at Boomer Beach. We have friends who have a beach house on the beach front at Boomer. Boomer is about a 1 hour drive from Adelaide it is a beautiful place and we went to bed at night and woke up in the morning to the thundering sound of surf.
This was the view from our front windows.
